Results, December 3-9

This week saw the return of a young star from injury, the retirement and marriage of one of joshi's most attractive performers, and all three JWP belts on the line.

WAVE is only running one Tuesday night show this month. I don't know if they've soured on the idea of midweek shows because of poor attendance or if the weekly Tuesday shows will resume next month. Anyway, they got their best midweek attendance ever, surely helped by Ayumi Kurihara's return and Michiko Ohmukai's final appearance in WAVE. Ayumi and Michiko had a brief exhibition match, then Michiko, Bullfight Sora, & Yuki Miyazaki defeated GAMI, Kyoko Kimura, and AKINO in the main event, as Ohmukai used a Tiger Suplex on GAMI.

The Chick Fights SUN girls appeared at 3 ZERO1-MAX house shows and Aja Kong came by twice. Kong beat Natsuki*Taiyo and then Saki Maemura to the surprise of no one. I think Aja is the main Kong in R.E.M. now since Amazing/Awesome Kong is appearing in TNA and is focusing on establishing herself in the U.S.

K-DOJO ran the usual set of small Saturday shows, while Ayako Hamada showed up at MUGA WORLD to help honor Papa Hamada's 35th anniversary. Ayako beat Mai Ichii.

There were 3 joshi shows on Sunday the 9th. NEO was at Itabashi Green Hall in front of 170 fans, which I believe is at/near capacity for that small venue. The highlights included a time-limit draw between Yuki Miyazaki and Sonoko Kato (who should feud over who has the biggest badonkadonk in joshi), a victory by Yoshiko Tamura and Misae Genki over Aya Yuki and Hiroyo Matsumoto via a Genki lariat to Aya, and Haruka Matsuo beating Arisa Nakajima, since the champion should always concentrate on picking on juniors.

JWP's show at Korakuen Hall had all three belts on the line, but none changed hands. The opener featured Mayuka Shinzeki's debut. She's a month shy of sweet sixteen, so she lost to grizzled veteran Arisa Nakajima. Sendai's Tyrannosaurus Okuda used a German Suplex Hold to make her first defense of the JWP Junior and POP titles a success over Asuka Ohki. Kayoko Haruyama and Tsubasa Kuragaki retained the tag championship over SUN's team of Nanae Takahashi and Natsuki*Taiyo, as Kayoko scored a big win over Nanae. Finally, Azumi Hyuga kept the JWP Openweight title, defeating Kaori Yoneyama.

The final show was Final Egoist, the swansong for glamorous veteran Michiko Ohmukai. She got married on Saturday, and ended her joshi career at a show with a lot of friends, particularly from the days of ARSION. Ohmukai got the rare win in the main event, using a Shining Wizard on Aja Kong.
