There was a benefit for TAKEMURA with some joshi participation. AKINO thinks it is funny to get her hair cut like Minoru Suzuki's. She's an early leader for 2009 Bad Hair of the Year award, as she has passed Ryo Mizunami's eternal bed-head.
JWP & WAVE ran a triple-header in Osaka. JWP's highlight was Azumi Hyuga pinning Kaori Yoneyama with the Michinoku Driver II. WAVE's early show was the quarterfinals of the TLW Young Women's Tag Team tournament to crown an initial champion. Winners were Shu Shibutani & Ayumi Kurihara, Moeka Haruhi & Tomoka Nakagawa, Mio & Io Shirai, and Cherry & Apple Miyuki. The first two teams meet in a semifinal on 3/25, the latter two on 4/4, with the finals on 4/29.
LLPW ran two shows on Saturday & Sunday, with lots of outsider help from Ito Dojo & JWP, as Shinobu Kandori, Sayuri Okino, and indie guys in women's underpants were absent. Kaori Yoneyama and the Ito Dojo youngsters are developing mat sores on their backs from so much jobbing. Harley Saito got to pin Yoneyama and Ayako Sato, because it is important that Saito be protected in booking in 2009. Ayako Hamada did pull off a rarity; a victory at a LLPW show by someone under the age of 30, as she pinned Takako Inoue with the AP Cross. I heard LLPW is going to bring back their singles title and put it on Mae Young, as she's the only active female wrestler older than the LLPW roster.
NEO ran a doubleshot in Warabi City on Sunday, at what I think is the Ice Ribbon dojo. Highlights were Tanny Mouse and Ice Ribbon uber-jobber Miyako Miyachi winning the DDT Iron Man Heavy Metal Championship before Cherry got it back. Miyachi's title reign was a whopping ONE second long. Revolucion Amandola beat Kyoko Inoue, Hiroyo Matsumoto, and Makoto, with Makoto doing the obvious job. Passion red also won, beating Yoshiko Tamura, Ran Yu-Yu, and Kazumi Shimouma. Guess one counted the lights?
