Results, April 28-May 2

With Golden Week coming up next week, we had a fair amount of action this week.  Thursday saw Ice Ribbon in their last show before next week's Golden Ribbon from Korakuen Hall.  Sayaka Obihiro, a 23 year old, made her debut and another 12 year old is debuting on next Monday's show.  The main event saw HARASHIMA & Riho defeat Masa Takahashi & Emi Sakura.  Emi & Riho weren't involved in the pinfall, but Riho does put the ICEx60 Championship on the line against her mentor.  Emi apparently has read the Ricky Hatton Yo-Yo Diet training book, as she has reportedly lost 9 kg in one week to make the 60 kg weight limit.  Sure, I believe that.

Also on Thursday was a double shot at Shinjuku FACE, with an awful lot of tsukune at our joshi shows.   Kana's vanity show started with Kana and Ayumi Kurihara defeating Toshie Uematsu and Osaka Joshi's rookie Shimono Sawako, as the stout rookie took a good ole' ass-whupping from The Kurihara's dropkick.  After several courses of tsukune (and GAMI), the main event was joshi's homage to the UWF vs New Japan feud, as Kana and Meiko Satomura kicked the poo out of each other.  Meiko won and then yelled at Kana and made Kana cry.  I don't understand Japanese, but I saw the Youtube clip of the show and I'd like to know what Satomura said.  Oh, and Kana's wearing her fancy fuck-me purple panties over really tiny shiny gold short shorts now.

The Vader show followed.  The Shirai sisters faced each other in their 3rd anniversary match, with older sis Mio getting the win.  Basara made new friends in Big Van Vader, Vader Junior, and 2 Cold Scorpio, then returned to the ring.  Hopefully she didn't run into Satomura in the Shinjuku FACE locker room.  Basara and Bambi teamed up and whipped Asami Kawasaki and Apple Miyuki.  I literally mean that they whipped them.  With whips.  Basara then used a German Suplex on Apple since she's apparently exempt from the "job when returning from a long injury break" rule of puroresu and then looked for creeps to buy her photobook or get whipped. For yen.

Cherry had her yearly vanity show on Saturday, which featured a lot of DDT-flavored tsukune.  Futoshi Sawa painted his fat body like a cow and teamed with Bullfight Sora.  I think this was the kind of stuff that made PUNQ throw in the towel on the "watch everything from Japan" crusade.  The fat cows lost.  Then Makoto and Kota Ibushi dressed up like Mario and Luigi and beat Aja Kong and her tsukune partner.  Yes, Aja 2010 is on the losing side in matches involving Makoto cosplaying video game characters.  At least the loss was because Aja "accidentally" urakened her tsukune.  Cherry and Shu Shibutani won the main event over some indy sleaze tsukune.

At least there was no leftover tsukune on Sunday.  OZ Academy ran Osaka.  The Ozaki-KAORU feud will not die, as KAORU's interference in the Chikayo Nagashima vs Mayumi Ozaki match resulted in a Chikayo win.  Expect a big stipulation match between the old cheating broads later this summer.  The OZ tag belts changed hands, as Carlos Amano & Manami Toyota, after finishing their long series of matches tied, teamed up and defeated AKINO and Ran Yu-Yu, who failed in their 6th defense.

JWP's first show since MANIA-X, where Nanae Takahashi ended Kayoko Haruyama's near two-year reign, set up some new angles.  Rookie Senri Kuroki is now wearing a purple skirt from the Mio Shirai consignment shop, and lost to Makoto in the first of a five match series.  She gets Shimono Sawako next in the battle to see who is at the absolute bottom of the joshi hierarchy.  KAZUKI and Toshie Uematsu are now a team and tag champs, and Sachie Abe isn't taking this well.  She's a jilted lover and can't stand that KAZUKI left The WANTED?! for some Uelove.  Abe's trying to find a new partner to exact revenge, but I'm not sure she's found a taker.  KAZUKI did get her ass kicked by gigantic gaijin Vanessa "The Mountain" Kraven and Uematsu lost to Abe.  Command Bolshoi teamed with Ayako Sato and beat Kaori Yoneyama and Marcela with what I take is a rip-off of Nanae's finisher, called the "Pikoracka".  Lulz.  After Haruyama got a pin over Tsubasa Kuragaki in the main event tag, then Bolshoi told Nanae, present only as a spectator today, that her next challenge is from Bolshoi herself.  That defense is next month at Shinjuku FACE and I can't imagine that's anything but a throwaway defense for Takahashi.
