Schedule, September 9-17

We have quite a few shows over the next week, especially Monday Sept. 17th, which seems to be a holiday in Japan. The picture is from Toshie Uematsu's blog. She worked an Ice Ribbon show recently. I don't really keep up on Ice Ribbon, but it looks like the weird 666 promotion was there as well. Puroresu is so weird sometimes!

Sunday the 9th is pretty empty, as we've got nothing but a JWP dojo show. The rookies Arisa Nakajima and Aska Ohki will face each other and the main event is a 6 woman tag with chestnuts involved.

WAVE will be at Shin-Kiba 1st Ring on Tuesday 9/11. We have Hardcore Wave with KAORU and Kyoko Kimura, Comical Wave with Toshie and Ran against GAMI and Bullfighter Sora, Road to Mexico Lucha Wave with Shu Shibutani against an opponent to be named later, and another match in the Road to Resurrection series, as Yumi Ohka faces Nanae Takahashi. I've heard that Shu and Bullfighter will be going to Mexico.

On Saturday the 15th, there's a ZERO1-MAX show with a SUN offer match yet to be determined. Sunday the 16th will feature a double shot by JWP at the Tokyo Cinema Club. The afternoon show is a normal card. Highlights are Azumi Hyuga and Kaori Yoneyama taking on the SUN team of Nanae and Saki Maemura, and JWP tag champs Tsubasa Kuragaki and Kayoko Haruyama against Sachie Abe and KAZUKI, although it hasn't been announced as a title match. The evening show is restricted to members of the JWP Fan Club. There will be a sparring match between unnamed trainees (maybe JWP will have someone to debut at the Jr. All Stars show on New Years' Eve), a 10 woman tag match, something with Azumi Hyuga, and a photo session. Also on Sunday, there will be an OZ Academy offer match at a Big Japan show being held at an elementary school (!). Mayumi Ozaki and Dynamite Kansai will reform their classic team for the first time in the Oz Academy and face Aja Kong and Carlos Amano.

On Monday the 17th, we have a major NEO show and OZ Academy playing with the boys from Osaka Pro. NEO is at Korakuen Hall with the BEAT UP 07 show. We now have Machine Gunz from various provinces of China, as there will be a three-way tag match between the NEO Machine Gunz, the Guangdong Machine Gunz, and the Sichuan Machine Gunz. The winner of the match wins the intellectual property (?) to the NEO Machine Gunz name. What, no Motor City Machine Gunz? Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin could use the work! Also on the card are big singles matches between Misae Genki and Kaoru Ito, Sakura Emi and Ayako Hamada, and a NEO/NWA Pacific title defense by champion Yoshiko Tamura against "future ace" Haruka Matsuo. I'm not expecting a title change, but I think the NEO/Ito Dojo feud will continue to heat up.

Shinjuku FACE will have the GAORA TV crew and two shows, where OZ Academy and Osaka Pro will have a mixed tag tournament. Dynamite Kansai is supposedly missing, but everyone knows that the "Mystery Woman" against AKINO and Tigers Mask will be Dynamite. Maybe Dynamite will be in disguise and hopefully AKINO will work the noki-A gimmick. Other quarterfinal highlights include Aja Kong against clowns (Bolshoi Kid and Kuishinbo Kamen) and GAEA classmates Chikayo Nagashima and Sonoko Kato at each other's throats again. The evening show will feature the semifinals and finals of the tournament, and probably some men's matches.
