Some updates and corrections

As reported at the JoshiFans message board (link is on the right hand side), Pro-Wrestling SUN has another one of their infamous press conferences today. The usual 4 SUN girls were accompanied by Kana (on the right), who is coming out of retirement. Her return match is against Nanae on the 22nd (I'll have upcoming SUN cards as we get closer to the shows) and was not impressed that Nanae was booked for a later match at that show, since she might not be able to wrestle again after Kana is through with her. Uh, OK. Kana's attitude is pretty heelish. Maybe she wants to join R.E.M.

Speaking of R.E.M., Aja crashed the press conference and made fun of Hikaru. Hikaru is defending her EWA title in Hawaii on the 15th in a 3-way match against Tracy Taylor and Malia Hosaka. Aja bragged about beating Hosaka "in ancient times". I don't remember that. I remember Akira Hokuto squashing Malia in WCW, but I think Aja might be confusing Malia with Chapparita ASARI :-)

Jamie Dee will be back in Japan next month to defend the AWA Women's Japan Championship against Saki Maemura. I'm not sure what Saki has done to warrant a shot at the most important of the many belts in SUN, but I doubt Jamie Dee is losing this match. This would be like Stevie Richards getting a shot at John Cena and the WWE belt. Actually, that might be kind of cool.

I originally thought SUN and ZERO1-MAX were doing a mixed tag tournament on Sept 23-24, but it appears that I was wrong. SUN is having a one day tag tournament (girlz only) on the 23rd and ZERO1-MAX is having their own thing on the 24th.

Also, I'll quickly mention that there are a couple of special shows on September 30th. Fuuka is having her first "Fuuka Matsuri" or festival. Kana is there as well. Fuuka will have a martial arts exhibition against a girl who is the "idol" of karate (Frank Pozen has stuff about her on his blog). That same day, the somewhat older and less cute Devil Masami will have her 30th Anniversary show. The last time Fuuka had a special show (her 3rd anniversary), it was the same night as the Jaguar Yokota show. Devil's show is being produced by Empress Produce and Nagayo Produce, so you'd expect people associated with Devil and Chigusa through AJW, JWP, and GAEA to be on the card. So far this is the case. Two matches have been announced: a Sendai Girls tag team match and a 6-way match involving the GAEA generation, but separated from their typical partner. That match is Meiko Satomura/Toshie Uematsu/Chikayo Nagashima vs Sonoko Kato/Ran Yu-Yu/Carlos Amano. I'll have full cards for these shows in the future. Who knows, maybe Nagayo will be unable to resist a "cameo" appearance.
